Change of the mental abilities is a normal process which affects the population already over 40 and even strengthens with age.
How to register
Registration consists of two steps:
1. Creating a new account
- Account creation is easy if you have a Google, Facebook or LinkedIn account: just click on its name in the left sidebar. In this case, you do not have to choose and remember a new username and password. You immediately become a Candidate for Player.
- Otherwise click on the Registration button in the left sidebar and a form will appear on the screen. After filling out the form click on the Register button at the bottom of the page. You will soon receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. Follow the instructions sent to you in the e-mail. As the result of the registration confirmation you become a Candidate for Player.
Good to know that it is not necessary to enter your real name and usual e-mail address. You may choose an alias, as well as enter an alternative e-mail address that does not contain your real name. Note that e-mails sent to this mailbox should reach you anyway, otherwise you can not confirm your registration. For proper evaluation of the data gained from playing with our games we ask you to enter real data regarding your gender, age and educational level. Otherwise incorrect conclusions may be drawn.
2. Performing the PAL Test
As Candidate for Player you must complete the PAL (Paired Associates Learning) Test in order to be upgraded to Player, eligible to play games. The PAL Test assesses the actual (initial) condition of your visual memory and your learning skills. Later on, your improvements due to playing the games will be compared with your initial condition.
What to do?
- Click on the PAL Test Guide icon and read the description of the PAL Test.
- Click on the PAL Test icon and start the PAL Test itself.
Note that if you click on the title under the icon you can read a concise description in a pop-up window where you can start a short demo video, as well.
The PAL Test consists of 8 test cases. If you make errors each test case may be repeated several times. Normally, it takes around 10 minutes to perform the PAL Test.
When you complete the PAL Test you become a Player. Don't worry if you cannot complete a difficult test case: after the last allowed trial you become a Player, too. Your browser will be redirected to the main page where you can click on the proper menu button to get the list of games, and then choose and play any game.
If you do not perform the PAL Test within 3 days, your registration will be void, and all your data will be erased from the M3W website.
